Make Your Own Dog Treats!

In this article, I offer healthy and easy recipes to delight your dog's taste buds! Use them during training sessions or just to enhance his daily life.

First, let's start with the superfoods TO AVOID .

- Fresh grapes or raisins: Grapes or raisins can be fatal for dogs, but it all depends on the amount. Their consumption can lead to hypercalcemia (an excess of calcium in the blood), which manifests as vomiting and agitation, followed by lethargy, suffocation, diarrhea, and kidney failure.....

- Avocado: Avocado contains a substance that is dangerous for dogs, called persin. Significant consumption of persin causes diarrhea and vomiting, respiratory distress, increased heart rate, and heart rhythm disturbances that can be irreversible.

- Cocoa / Chocolate: Cocoa contains a substance that is highly toxic to our dogs: theobromine, which causes tremors, cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, paralysis, and respiratory distress.... So whatever happens, keep chocolate away from them!

- Macadamia nuts: Very important, 10 nuts correspond to about 30g. Three nuts can be enough to kill a 10-kilo dog. Clinical symptoms include: loss of consciousness, paralysis, tremors, vomiting, cardiac arrest.

Now, here are the benefits of certain superfoods:

- Banana: Dogs love bananas; they are a real energy booster and very beneficial in case of intestinal issues.

- Berries like strawberries, blueberries, blackberries: Beneficial for the dog's health, they boost the immune system and are renowned for their vitamin and antioxidant content.

- Carrot: Carrots contain many nutrients like beta-carotene, which is good for the dog's eyes and skin; they are also antibacterial.

- Sweet potato: Consuming sweet potato stabilizes blood sugar levels in dogs; it is known to strengthen muscles and the heart due to its high potassium content.

- Coconut oil: It helps reduce stress and strengthens the immune system. It also helps fight bacteria and parasites.

- Dandelion: Dandelion has anti-inflammatory and analgesic benefits, which is very interesting for dogs suffering from joint problems.
